A friend told me about this…: Just add some white, powdered dishwasher detergent to the washing machine, and it will get out all stains in the laundry. I tried it and it works! It got out several tough grease stains on a favorite skirt (on which Shout had done no good). Cheap, and no rubbing or scrubbing!

NOTE: My friend said to be sure to use pure white powdered dishwasher detergent, not with blue flecks, or it will dye your laundry that color.

Update 3/23/10: It doesn’t seem to work on stains that have been set in by the dryer. It worked very well for grease stains on a skirt that had previously been washed in cold water and hung to dry.
